Rose Minar to take on expanded role with Lift Brands, as Chief Marketing & Experience Officer
September 1, 2023
CHANHASSEN, Minn. – Thoughts shared by Rose Minar as she steps into her new role as Chief Marketing and Experience Officer at Lift Brands.
What duties come with your new role, and how do you plan to leverage your experience and skills to excel in these areas?
While I have always had a strong role in the Snap Fitness brand experience, especially since driving our brand repositioning project in 2021, my new focus will be tying my marketing and customer focused background to the products, tools and programs we use to deliver an optimal member experience. This will include driving the app and digital product feature developments, directing marketing campaigns and partnerships, managing the many brand programs as well as brand standards and guidelines.
What benefits can franchisees of Snap Fitness expect to see having you step into this new role as the Chief of Marketing & Experience Officer?
As part of this strategic business shift, our franchisees will see a more customer-centric approach to the way we bring the Snap Fitness brand to life. The entire customer journey will be carefully mapped and attended to—from initial lead interest to in-gym retention. To provide this optimized member experience, we will strive to empower our franchisees with the tools and strategies to engage with their leads and members effectively.
What initiatives are you most excited to work on in your new role?
Member retention will be hugely important to the brand experience; it is the natural evolution of our strategy following the Snap Fitness brand repositioning, which brought a new awareness to who we are and what we stand for. This focus will allow us to listen to what our members love about our gyms so we can use that information to continually improve. Specifically, I look forward to leveraging our member app usage and data to inform retention strategies, customizations, and product improvement.
What industry trends are you seeing and how do you plan on bringing them to life for Lift Brands?
Many industry leaders are embracing a more holistic approach to health and wellness, which I am excited to witness after our brand repositioning in 2021, with our tagline “For The Feeling”. It is critical for our industry to understand that physical health and mental health are connected, and gyms aren’t only for people who are already fit. Gyms can be an inclusive space for all kinds of people to improve their lives, and that is the experience we all strive to create in Snap Fitness locations around the globe.
We are also seeing a rise in the technology side of the industry. With the Snap Fitness app—including its fitness programming and virtual content—there are so many opportunities to connect with our members. The feature releases in the upcoming Snap App 2.0 will be especially exciting.
What do you love most about working for Lift Brands?
Our entire Lift Brands team, and our franchisees around the globe, continuously demonstrate their passion for creating happier and healthier lives, and I count myself fortunate to work alongside them.

New CEO Targets Global Growth for Fitness On Demand™ Brand
September 1, 2023
MINNEAPOLIS, August 29, 2023 – Fitness On Demand™, a globally recognized pioneer in delivering top-tier fitness content for over a decade, is embarking on a new phase of innovation and expansion. This week marks a significant turning point as the company welcomes a distinguished industry expert, Andy Peat, as its new CEO, accompanied by a comprehensive worldwide rebranding initiative already in motion. With immediate effect, Andy Peat assumes leadership of Fitness On Demand’s operations spanning 2,800 locations worldwide, tasked with propelling the brand’s evolution from a leading content provider to a trusted technological partner for fitness establishments in the fitness, corporate, hospitality, and multi-family housing sectors.
Drawing on more than ten years of executive leadership across prominent names in the fitness industry, Andy Peat brings unparalleled expertise to his new role. His recent tenure as Chief Product Officer at Lift Brands, a global fitness franchising company with more than 1,100 locations, exemplifies his extensive experience. Peat started his industry journey as a club owner, but rapidly ascended to CEO of Snap Fitness in Australia and New Zealand by the age of 25. Under his leadership, Snap Fitness grew from a single club to an impressive network of 250 locations, eventually becoming a pivotal component of the Lift Brands family through a multi-million-dollar acquisition.
“While Fitness On Demand has achieved remarkable strides in the past decade, our aspirations for the next five years are even more monumental as the fitness landscape undergoes transformation,” said Andy Peat, CEO, Fitness On Demand. “I really believe in the product road map we’re building for our customers and their users. The next phase for our brand has already started as we shift from being a global leader delivery platform for fitness content to one of the world’s most trusted providers of fitness technology and user engagement for clubs, fitness centers and other businesses. We’re going way beyond our history in group class fitness content to becoming a true partner, helping our customers engage and empower users, market exceptionally and create tangible impact on their bottom lines.”
Peat’s rich background in product innovation, operational management, and business expansion comes at an opportune time for Fitness On Demand, which is set to spearhead a global brand relaunch. As part of the roll-out, Fitness On Demand just unveiled a next-generation, total fitness experience app. While the app creates exceptional, 360-degree fitness experiences for consumers in-club, at home and on-the-go, it’s designed specifically to empower fitness businesses to enhance user engagement, bolster customer retention, and capitalize on monetization opportunities.
For users, the app elevates each member’s fitness journey by providing personalized programs, club event activities, nutritional insights, wellness guidance, and real-time fitness progress tracking. Simultaneously, for fitness operators, it serves as a powerful engagement tool, keeping their brand in front of users wherever they workout. Features include customizable white-label branding choices, pre-structured challenges for member activation, and an expansive library of over 1,000 premium classes, as well as automated notifications to keep users informed and in contact with their facility.
Other recent introductions include the launch of two new TV channels of high-engagement sports news and wellness content. Integrating seamlessly with current content already on the Fitness On Demand platform, as well as club branded promotions, this activates underused displays and creates more engaging environments for clubs and other fitness or wellness facilities.
“This is the initial, albeit substantial, stride towards our brand’s ultimate vision as the chosen technology and business partner for every fitness business looking to create both the exceptional tech-forward experiences that users expect in fitness today, as well as continued growth for their own businesses,” added Peat.

Partnership fast-tracks Fitstop’s global footprint
CHANHASSEN, Minn., June 23, 2021 – Lift Brands, a leading innovator in the fitness industry as the parent brand to Snap Fitness and Fitness On Demand, has announced a strategic partnership with Fitstop to fast-track the Australia-based company’s global footprint and open doors to Lift Brands’ global network.
“As a leader in fitness franchising, Lift Brands has both developed great bands and made strong strategic partnerships to enhance our offering for both our members and our franchisees,” said Ty Menzies, global CEO of Lift Brands. “Our partnership with Fitstop will allow Lift Brands to diversify into the significantly trending space of athletic functional fitness and open the door to our franchisees to invest in an on-trend, fast-growing and very exciting offering in Fitstop.”
Lift Brands APAC CEO Chris Caldwell said Fitstop’s individual locations’ performance and cultural alignment are two attributes of the partnership.
“Our values as a business, and even on a personal level, were the perfect match with the Fitstop team,” said Caldwell. “The integration and connection they have with their individual franchisees is quite special, and we cannot wait to be a key partner in their growth.”
Fitstop is a leading functional-based fitness brand launched in 2017 with an annual growth rate of 70 percent. That growth made the company a key player in the functional fitness industry in Australia at a time when Lift Brands was eager to add a new element to its fitness network. The next phase of growth will involve introducing Fitstop to the New Zealand market, followed by the UK and US on a larger scale. Caldwell will join the Fitstop board as a non-executive director, alongside Fitstop’s CEO Peter Hull and Chairman Stuart Cook.
“This partnership has been months in the making, and we couldn’t be happier to collaborate with a network of like-minded leaders in the industry,” said Hull. “This is a huge milestone for both brands and really puts us on the fitness map.”

Minnesota’s Lift Brands Announces New C-Suite to Lead Global Fitness Brands under #OneTeam
April 27, 2021
Company creates franchise coaching program in U.S. and Canada
CHANHASSEN, Minn., April 27, 2021 – Lift Brands, the parent brand to several global fitness brands worldwide including Snap Fitness(R), FitnessOnDemand™ and minority partner for 9Round, announces a refresh of its C-suite executives to lead under the company’s #OneTeam initiative. The new executives ladder up to Ty Menzies who was named global CEO last June.
“#OneTeam means that we support each other as a family of team members and franchisee owners. We elevated this by putting people in leadership positions that live our values,” said Menzies. “We are indeed #OneTeam as we look ahead with new leaders and a new vision for Lift Brands. There’s a lot of excitement around an invigorated direction for our company, and this fine group of leaders will no doubt be an integral part of our growth.”
Paul Early comes on board as Lift Brands’ Chief Financial Officer, most recently coming from Gold’s Gym as chief administration officer. He has also spent time at Bread Zeppelin Salads Elevated, TGI Friday’s and Carlson Companies.
Chief Marketing Officer Rose Minar joins Lift Brands following a successful career in hospitality, most recently with the Radisson Hotel Group and Carlson. At Lift Brands, Minar will lead strategic brand and marketing initiatives including a global Snap Fitness brand re-positioning.
Andy Peat, Chief Product Officer, has been with Lift Brands and Snap Fitness his entire career. He previously served as director of Snap Fitness clubs and Chief Executive Officer in Australia and New Zealand. In his new role, Peat oversees all member-facing products, partnerships and overall look and feel of clubs around the world.
Rounding out the executive team is Chief Technology Officer Rob Mendel, who has served in his role since 2018 and oversees all systems and IT operations. Vice President Uday Anumalachetty leads Fitness on Demand that promotes virtual fitness programs and offerings. With increased focus on international expansion, Chris Caldwell takes over as APAC CEO based in Brisbane, and Jon Cottam is named EMEA CEO out of London following the re-acquisition of its Snap Fitness UK and Ireland area developer. Both will oversee operations for Snap Fitness and 9Round in their regions.
Much of the company’s strategic plan for the next several years revolves around its commitment to infrastructure development, club growth and redesign, innovative product and technology offerings, and franchise support. As such, Lift Brands has created a team of 10 Snap Fitness Franchise Business Coaches (FBC) in the U.S. and Canada that oversee regions of club managers and franchisee owners. Coaches use their knowledge of fitness operations and staff resources to counsel and advise franchisee owners to improve their membership sales and grow their businesses. Internationally, there are 10 additional FBCs that already serve the EMEA and APAC regions.
“The FBC team is created out of a need to offer consistent, ongoing support to the people who make our business run – our franchise owners,” said Brian Tietz, vice president of brand support for Lift Brands. “Several coaches have owned or currently own clubs themselves and know what it takes to succeed. They’re up to speed on industry trends, have served in the industry for years, and act as tremendous mentors for owners who want to grow their business and retain their members. We’re excited to see this team do great things.”
